How the day fished

There was some rain the day before and some small rain in the afternoon, however the water level did not rise. But the fishing was solid with some good dry fly activity during the afternoon.

Small BWOs were hatching and both small and big fish were rising to them. Even though nymph fishing was also productive, it was hard to resist to fish with a dry since it was the first solid activity in a long time on the Ribnik. The river still has only a few spots to fish, so it was best to arrive early to the good spot and wait for the hatch. Since the water is really low and slow, a thin tippet was mandatory (7x or even 8x), fished downstream. Emergers were also very productive when the fish became more selective.
